MEF is striving for nonprofit incorporation and 501(c)(3) compliance. All contributions during this formation stage are not tax-deductible. We are currently raising funds to make that possible. At this time, contributions are treated as gifts rather than as tax deductions.

When the IRS approves 501(c)(3) status, it usually applies retroactively to the incorporation date if the organization is filed within 27 months. That means early donors may still be able to deduct those contributions later once incorporated. Please see your tax advisor for more information.

Our top priorities are incorporation, tax compliance, and general start-up operations. Once these objectives are established, we will have the tools to initiate program fundraising, allowing us to guide musical artists toward success.
